How to Connect A Custom Domain to Your Zyfo.ai Website

Once you've created a Zyfo.ai website, to optimize your website for search engine optimization and to look more professional, you can connect a custom domain name.

Zyfo.ai has made the process extremely simple.

Note: You must be on Zyfo.ai Hobbyist or above to connect custom domain names

If you do not have a domain name already

If you have not yet purchased a domain name, you can email us at zyfo@zyfo.ai with the domain that you'd like, and we will purchase and set it up for you! You can check for domain availability by searching on Namecheap.

If you'd like to purchase your own domain, you can purchase one using the video guide below and then follow the steps below to connect it to Zyfo.ai.

If you already have a domain name

To connect a domain name, you have to create a CNAME record from your domain to your site code. You can find your site code here:

zyfo domain code

In this case, the code is "58ef7a8411.sites.zyfo.live".

Depending on where you purchased the domain, adding a CNAME record will have different steps. In general, you will want to set the Name/Host field to @ which indicates the root domain (i.e. example.com). If you want to connect a subdomain (i.e. subdomain.example.com), set the name field to subdomain. The value should be the site code.

Note for GoDaddy domains:

GoDaddy does not allow setting CNAME records for the @ record
To get around this, set up a CNAME for the host "www", and then forward your root domain to "https://www.example.com"

You can check to verify that the CNAME record is live by using the Google DIG Tool. Simply enter your domain and click on the "CNAME" tab.

Once your domain is set up

Once the CNAME record is set for your domain, the rest is a breeze!

Zyfo add domain

Go to the link domain page of your profile, and then enter the domain name that you set the CNAME up for in the box that says "Enter domain name". Then, click on "Add Domain". This will prompt you to select the website to save the domain name to. Click on "Set Domain", and then you are good to go!
